pH neutralization systems

What is a pH Neutralization System?

pH neutralization systems are essential equipment for correcting the level of acidity or alkalinity of water, typically wastewater, before it is discharged to the sewer. At Magnor, these systems are designed to correct the pH of effluents from laboratories, industrial processes or specialized facilities, to ensure compliance with current environmental standards.

These systems are custom-made to suit flow rates, effluent characteristics, and installation constraints.

How does a pH neutralization system work?

A pH neutralization system operates through a continuous, automated process. The effluent is conveyed to a neutralization tank where the pH correction is carried out by the gradual injection of acid or basic solutions.

Inspection by sensors and dosing pumps

The dosage is controlled by electronic dosing pumps connected to pH sensors.

  • A first probe measures the pH in the tank and activates the corrective pumps.
  •  A second probe, located at the outlet of the system, records the pH of the effluent before it is discharged into the sewer.

Flow rate of water treated by the pH neutralization system

At Magnor, we tailor the design of neutralization systems to your water flow needs, typically between 3 US gpm and 1000 US gpm.

Types of pH Neutralization Systems - The choice of materials

Magnor offers different types of systems depending on the nature of the effluent and the need for robustness:

Plastic tanks (polypropylene or polyethylene)

These systems are:

  • Lightweight and corrosion-resistant
  • Ideal for low to warm temperature effluents
  • Suitable for processes with low to medium flow rates.

Smaller models are particularly suitable for installations where space is limited, and handling needs to be simplified.

Stainless steel tanks

These systems offer:

  • Increased robustness
  • Excellent resistance to high temperatures
  • Reliable performance for demanding industrial environments.

They are recommended when durability and long-term mechanical strength are a priority.

Why use a Magnor pH neutralization system?

These systems provides the following benefits:

  • Comply with environmental standards for wastewater discharge Ensure plant safety and compliance with internal standards
  • Meet specific neutralization requirements in industrial processes

The Magnor Promise Whether you are looking for a custom-designed system for better pH neutralization or for optimal integration into your existing installations, Magnor can support you.
