Pharmaceutical Industry

Sector: Industrial - Pharmaceutical

Location: Montréal, Québec

Type of projet: Process water

Type of water: Industrial Wasterwater

System Capacity: 898 US gallons/min

Controlled parameters: pH

Project Overview:

  • Effluents generated from pharmaceutical operations required pH neutralization prior to discharge.
  • The project was part of a new plant that needed to respect regulatory requirements at the beginning of its operations,
  • The project required a high-capacity system capable of handling variable flow conditions.
  • Integration of automation and instrumentation was essential to ensure operational reliability.

Magnor Solution:

Our solution is a neutralization system with a two-step process including:

  • Pre-neutralization rectangular tank (144 in. x 72 in. stainless steel tank)
  • Main neutralization rectangular tank (144 in. x 72 in. stainless steel tank)
  • Automated injection systems
  • Agitation systems for proper mixing
  • Transfer pump Control panel with integrated instrumentation (Allen Bradley)
  • pH monitoring (three probes)
